Companion Care
Companion Care focuses primarily on the client and his or
her social needs. Companions offer a wide range of services
to clients, including:
- Provide companionship, socialization,
communication
- Stabilize when walking by holding arm
or hand
- Report unusual incidents or changes
in behavior to Evergreen Private Care
- Accompany to appointments and/or
errands
- Perform basic grooming/cosmetic
assistance (brushing hair, assisting with make up,
filing/polishing nails, etc.
- Perform light household tasks
(meal/preparation, laundry, straighten living areas,
etc.)
Personal Care
focuses primarily on the client and his or her personal
needs. Personal Care is provided by a Certified Nursing
Assistant or Home Health Aide who can do everything ordered
by a Companion plus:
- Assist with “hands on” care,
including bathing, dressing, skin, mouth and hair care
- Measure temperature, pulse,
respiration, blood pressure, intake and output of fluids
(if necessary)
- Assist with prescribed range of
motion (ROM) exercises
- Assist with prescribed ice cap or
collar
- Assist with the use of ambulation
devices (wheelchair, walker, etc.)
- Assist with the change of colostomy
bag, reinforcement of dressing, etc
Skilled Nursing Care focuses
primarily on the client and his or her medical needs.
Skilled Nursing Care is provided by an RN or LPN who can do
everything offered by a CNA/HHA or Companion plus:
- Provide wound care (including
dressing changes)
- Administer tube feedings and/or
high-tech intravenous therapy
- Administer and manage medications
- Maintain medical plans
- Provide other nursing care as
prescribed by a physician
- Perform a Client Care Conference
(assess, review, and discuss client’s plan of care and
answer any questions the client or family may have)
Live-In-Care is offered
by a caregiver who stays in the client’s residence 24 hours
per day.
- Caregiver must have uninterrupted
sleep time in a separate sleeping
- Room for privacy and preferably a
private restroom
- Care may be provided by either a
Companion or CNA/HHA, depending on the individual need
Homemaking
For
the client’s convenience Evergreen Private Care offers
Homemaking referrals, as well. Homemakers focus primarily on
household duties in the client’s residence and help maintain
the home in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety by
providing assistance with
the following:
- Sweeping, vacuuming and/or mopping
floors
- Cleaning out cupboards, stoves,
refrigerators, freezers
- Dusting furniture; cleaning blinds,
windows
- Cleaning mirrors, sinks, toilets,
showers, tubs
- Washing, drying, ironing, folding and
putting away clothes and linens
- Performing other cleaning tasks as
requested by client
